Would you like to learn to dance in contact and guide with touch?
In this four-time course, we will go through the basics of pair work, which can be integrated in partnering, contact improvisation and other pair work. The course will teach you different ways to move contact points, share weight, to improvise and to move on levels with a partner We will go through movement patterns and learn easy movement sequences. We will change partners throughout the course.
No previous experience in dance, improvisation or pair work is required for the course.
Complete beginners and those who want to review on the basics are especially welcome.
The course will be held in Finnish, and in English if necessary.
The four-time intensive course is part of the Jyväskylä Dance Institute's summer semester intensive period.
The teacher is Mimmi Salo, a dance teacher and dancer specializing in pair work and contact improvisation.
Time: Monday 1.6., Tuesday 2.6., Monday 8.6. and Tuesday 9.6. at 6:30 p.m.-7:45 p.m., total 4 × 75 min
Location: Jyväskylä Dance Institute (Jyväskylän Tanssiopisto = JTO), Vapaudenkatu 48-50, 40100 Jyväskylä
Price: €80 for JTO members, €100 for non-members. Membership fee €15, you can become a member when registering.
Early bird price: -10% for members and -5% for non-members, if registration is made by May 15.
