Dance artists Mimmi Salo. Laura Koistinen and Taru Aho are sharing their processes and outcomes developed at Liikeveistämö in 2026. The afternoon includes demos and discussions about them. The dance artists' demos are physical studies or unfinished choreographic ideas.
Mimmi Salo, Laura Koistinen and Taru Aho were selected for the Liikeveistämö of for spring 2026. Liikeveistämö ( = Movement sculpturing) is a paid residency and aims to support artistic work in the local setting. It is part of the new strategy of the Central Finland Dance Centre. Movement Sculpture Studio offers working time for research and development of dance art and for maintaining one's own professionalism. The format includes personal and shared rehearsal slots at Cultural House Villa Ranta, as well as the opportunity for choreographic mentoring.
The artistic work was mentored by the festival's artistic director and choreographer Veli Lehtovaara who has been mentoring the creative processes and will be facilitating the event together with the artists.
Admission to the event is free. Duration is approximately 50 minutes.
